Kruhly Architects is an architectural firm dedicated to the creation of meaningful built environments through thoughtful, imaginative and contextually responsive designs.

The firm's designs combine traditional ideas of composition, form and craft with a more readable and flexible expression of modern functions. The inspiration for our design comes from the physical conditions of the site, as well as the cultural, historical, political and especially environmental context for the building. It is this inspiration which makes the work of the firm unique.

James Oleg Kruhly, FAIA, founder and principal of the firm, was elected in 1992 as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects “in recognition of his national contributions to design…demonstrating that it is possible to create architectural works of originality, subtlety and quiet excellence while working within the difficult constraints imposed by buildings as well as delicate existing surroundings.”

Kruhly Architects has completed institutional, commercial and residential projects in ten states as well as in Europe . The firm has earned numerous design awards and its work has been widely published.
